Start with a waterbomb base already folded. Carefully rotate the model 180 degrees so that the pointed tip at the top is now facing downward. This will set the correct orientation for shaping the butterfly.

With the waterbomb base pointing down, take the lower tip and fold it upward along the horizontal dashed line until it meets the upper edge. This movement starts defining the main body of the butterfly.
